Hemavan Tärnaby

It’s only 90 minutes from Arlanda International Airport to the heart of Laplands’ majestic mountains. Hemavan Tärnaby Airport is situated near to the resort – only 300 meters from the ski-slopes and hiking trails. In Hemavan Tärnaby you can find all kind of activities, both summer and winter. There are many different alternatives for accomodation, from cabins, camping sites to hostels and hotel suites. A different world … another kind of summer Far away from daily stress lies another world, a different world, where a genuine wilderness literally begins on your doorstep.

Most associate Lapland with winter. This is the season of the Northern Lights, deep, fresh, white snow, and numerous outdoor activities such as skiing and dogsledding. For the native Sami the year has 8 seasons and their spring/winter is typified by long sunny days, ice fishing and glorious crosscountry skiing trips. This is the time when the reindeer return from their winter pastures down in the forest. Herds containing thousands of reindeer can be seen in late April, early May.

Spring is a quick affair as within a couple of weeks summer makes its entry. Temperatures rise, migrating birds flock to the area, and the snow melts, cascading down in a multitude of waterfalls and mountain streams. Within a few weeks everything is green with an abundance of wild flowers springing up everywhere. It is no coincidence that one of Sweden’s best Alpine Botanical Gardens is located in Hemavan.

Celebrate TUMPEK KANDANG at Damai Lovina Villas,Bali

November 8, 2009

sapi_1
TUMPEK KANDANG is a special day of thanks for the gift of livestock. Tumpek Kandang, sometimes called Tumpek Andang, falls five weeks later, on Saturday of Uye, the 22d week of the Pawukon cycle.

The name comes from kandang, the Balinese word for the household animal pen, because this is the day to honor domestic animals, especially cows and pigs, which are highly valued by the Balinese.Enjoy this TUMPEK KANDANG at Damai Lovina Villas,Bali.

The cows are washed, kambens, just like those humans wear, are thrown over their backs, and special cone-shaped spirals of coconut leaf are placed on their horns. The pigs are usually just decorated by wrapping a white cloth about their bellies. The animals are given special foods, prayers are offered, and they are sprinkled with rice and holy water.

Damai Lovina Villas,Bali The Perfect Place for Your Family Vaccations

November 2, 2009

You get a fantastic view when you’re tucked up high on this mountainside. Surrounded by lush upland forests, overlooking the North Coast by Lovina bay, these 14 Balinese-style villas let you hide away from frantic southern Bali. Lovina is famous for its dolphin watching and laid-back tropical charm – and if you’re into organic gardens you’ll love Damai’s orchards full of tropical fruit and veg, ranging from vanilla to dragon’s-eye fruit. They’ve also opened an organic farm, with everything from snails to pigs. With all this to hand, cooking classes are run daily and people make special trips just to the restaurant.

If you want a break from its massage treatments and gentle ocean breeze, Danish-owned Damai gives you more ideas than days: treks to waterfalls; diving and snorkelling excursions; local markets; bird-watching and painting. Or if you want to laze away the pre-cocktail hour watching films, there’s a huge library to choose from. Damai means ‘peaceful’, and sitting beneath the crimson bouganvilea looking out to sea that’s just what it is.

Mount Lofty House

October 29, 2009

0,,5254652,00
Mount Lofty House was built by Arthur Hardy in the 1850’s as a summer retreat for the Hardy family. At that time Mount Lofty House occupied one of the most commanding positions in the colony. In many ways this is still true as Grand Mercure Mount Lofty House still holds its position as one of South Australia’s most outstanding boutique hotels.

The House remained a splendid private residence for many years seeing many distinguished owners including Arthur Waterhouse and John Richardson before it was all but destroyed in the devastating Ash Wednesday fires in 1983. Only the massive stone walls survived. Mount Lofty House was restored by a local architect to it’s original condition opening in 1986 as a premier guest house with a total of eight rooms and by 1988, a further 21 rooms had opened in the newly built Summit Wing overlooking the magnificent Piccadilly Valley. The property now enjoys a reputation for consistent quality, and is highly regarded for it’s personalised service whether it be for your special weekend away, to help celebrate your wedding or hold a professional conference. It delivers the best in local food and wine produce that provides the special experience that is Grand Mercure Mount Lofty House.

Romantic Villas

October 23, 2009

As per there site why Hotel why not Villa, when I was planning my vacation this summer I wanted to try Bali this time but was not interested in hotels wanted a change and after some searching I came across this great Bali romantic villas, something I was looking for a change then those traditional hotel stays. They had these two private villas where I stayed with my family and both had private swimming pool with garden, fountain ,flat tv screen TV and international cable, the furniture there gave a really warmly comfortable look.

In addition to that both villas were 20 mins drive away from airport so we reached there comfortably without getting into the city. Also it got gold sand beaches and shops and restaurants just 3 mins from villa so easy excess to things. For safety they had 24 hours security so there was nothing to worry about and be secure and have fun.

I and my family had a great time , if you want the same it is must to travel once in a life destination .

Hotel Trends: Like staying in the house of a very rich friend

October 18, 2009

If you want to find out how hotels are going to look five years from now you should go to Bali. The paradise island is the world’s trend-lab for luxury hotels, and here you find the properties that have inspired dozens of famous hotels all over the world, with their trademark serene pampering that so many resorts have tried to imitate. And for once it is less expensive to try the original than the copy: these heavenly properties are often surprisingly affordable.

One of these dream hotels is The Damai in Northern Bali. For a decade this refined little boutique retreat has been the well-kept secret of a crowd of foodie followers, returning year after year to experience the resort’s understated luxury, fantastic views and exquisite food. The resort’s new pool villas, however, can’t really be called understated: huge, sprawling rooms in a dramatic decor, filled with collections of antiques, ethnographical and artifacts from the islands rich heritage. Most furniture and lighting has been custom designed for the property and some of the artwork gracing the walls could just as well be found hanging on the walls of a museum. The style is highly eclectic and personal and gives you the experience of staying in a private house rather than in a hotel room. A private house that belongs to someone with a world-class staff of cooks and butlers available on call, round the clock.

The interiors are designed by the hotel’s owner, Nils Normann with the hotel photography/styling team of Jacob Termansen and Pia Marie Molbech. The pair has travelled extensively to the choicest hotels and most luxurious private estates in both the Western and Eastern hemispheres, and together with hotelier Nils Normann they have created an experience as far from the cookie-cutter chain hotel as you can possibly get, and also very, very different from the many me-too modernist villas that has been cropping up all over Asia.

”We definitely try to give the guest a highly personal experience where they feel like they are living in a private home while travelling,” says hotelier Nils Normann. ”We have tried to make the villas entertaining, with flamboyant use of color and material and little details you won’t discover right away, like a hidden sculpture in the garden or a panel of buddhas high up under the ceiling. And then we have features only few private homes can offer, like 24 hour butler service and our Mandi’s, which are baths, where our spa therapists will give you a pampering treatment in your own bathroom.” So, will all hotels be like this soon? This reviewer is crossing fingers.

Kiaroa Beach Resort

October 17, 2009

kiaroa

Living Kiaroa is an unique experience. A sophisticated and paradisiacal Resort with 240,000 m2 implemented in an ecological sanctuary surrounded by the Atlantic Forest, one of the largest biodiversities in the planet. On the peninsula where there was only a native village, around 1705, Kiaroa offers today 28 lodging units- between suites and bungalows, SPA, gourmet gastronomy and pleasant activities surrounded by luxury, comfort and privacy.

The legend says that many moons ago, Indian Saquaíra and Indian Maraú lived in love and happy until Indian Camamu appeared wooing Saquaíra taking her away in his canoe. Desperate, Maraú asked God Tupã to embellish the place so that his love would come back, but, though he was heeded, the beautiful Indian never came back. Before he died, Maraú asked Tupã for a special favor: that all couples that met at the place where he had lived with his beloved one or traveled there, would never separate. Kiaroa exists exactly where Tupã poured his glories. The scenario could not have been a better accomplice: the forest, the deserted beach, coconut groves, the compromising silence, special accommodations, cotton bed sheets..
